Principal - Manufacturing Procurement & Supply Chain Transformation - Infosys Consulting
Infosys Consulting, the management and technology consulting unit of Infosys Ltd, is seeking motivated Manufacturing Industry Consultants. Management Consultants seeking long-term growth and career-enhancing opportunities will find both as part of our team of front-runners in Manufacturing Industry consulting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years’ experience in the Manufacturing sector with a strong understanding of one or more of the following industries: Automotive, Aerospace, Defense and Industrial Products. Successful candidates will understand manufacturing, distribution and supply chain for discrete and continuous manufacturing processes, including enabling technologies. A key focus area would be the demonstrated ability to re-imagine manufacturing and help our clients innovate and transform their companies with AI. The ability to create collaborative partnerships internally and externally is highly desirable. Role also requires practical experience in procurement transformation, strategic sourcing, category management, supplier collaboration, contract management and ERP-enabled procurement operating models across both direct and indirect procurement organizations.
About the Role
As a Principal, you will lead and manage delivery of consulting engagements, being responsible for quality, budget and staffing, working closely with senior client managers. You will contribute to the firm’s development by guiding and mentoring teams and sharing knowledge. You will be recognized as an expert in your respective domain and contribute to advancing Infosys Consulting’s thought leadership in the industry.
Strategy & Design
- Develop strategy and implementation roadmaps to help manufacturing companies transform and modernize their operations for improved throughput, quality and efficiency
- Lead customer research, customer journey and persona definition exercises, design end-user experiences,
- Support business case and roadmap definitions by linking digital capabilities tow business value levers/benefits
- Assess direct material procurement processes including sourcing, supplier qualification, supplier development, should-cost analysis, spend management, supplier performance management and procurement risk mitigation
- Assess indirect procurement processes including MRO, facilities, logistics, transportation, IT, contingent labor and professional services procurement to identify savings opportunities and process improvements
- Define procurement target operating models, governance structures, controls, buying channels and procurement organization designs that improve compliance, spend visibility and supplier performance

Consulting Delivery- Lead the design and delivery of client advisory, solution delivery and organizational transformation engagements in standalone projects or as part of wider client programs
- Advise clients on strategy and detailed use cases by leveraging insights from industry best practices
- Lead and manage a team of consultants to develop concise and practical strategies, roadmap and/or re-engineering program recommendations with a clear implementation path
- Seek out client input in a structured manner to better understand needs and develop ideas for how to meet those needs
- Collaborate with clients to define long-term vision, goals and strategies
- Direct teams of global consulting, IT professionals & subject matter experts in establishing comprehensive business and functional requirements, then translating those requirements into actionable project initiatives with associated metrics
- Play a key liaison and coordinator between the business, IT, senior management, vendor teams and other members of the change programs
- Lead procurement transformation engagements from current-state assessment and business requirements through process redesign, ERP implementation, testing, deployment and adoption
- Advise clients on category strategy, strategic sourcing, supplier segmentation, spend analytics, sourcing governance and procurement performance measurement
- Lead initiatives focused on supplier collaboration, supplier relationship management, procurement digitization and supply risk management
Practice Development- Provide insights on new and emerging manufacturing best practices and contribute to the development of service offerings
- Work with other practice members to support Infosys Consulting thought leadership activities and develop innovative assets, including differentiated points of view and methodologies
- Build social networks that enable knowledge and information flow and stay abreast of market trends and how manufacturing companies need to respond
- Prepare thought papers and participate in industry conferences and forums
- Contribute to practice growth and vitality through roles such as recruitment, training and retention
People Management- Coach and develop junior team members to deliver quality results and promote professional development
Business Development- Lead small, medium sized sales pursuits and business development activities ranging from creation of client proposals to formulating commercial constructs / contracts
- Develop and build relationships at senior management and CXO levels
- Formulate and present Infosys Consulting propositions and service offerings
- Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with at least 3-5 years of management consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm or manufacturing company
- 5-7 years of experience in working on one or more of the following areas – Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Technology
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, supplier management or procurement transformation programs
- Experience working with direct procurement processes including raw materials, components, production materials, supplier quality management and supply continuity programs
- Experience working with indirect procurement categories including MRO, facilities, logistics, transportation, IT, contingent labor and professional services
- Hands-on consulting or program experience with procurement capabilities within Oracle Cloud ERP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer or equivalent enterprise procurement platforms
- Working knowledge of design thinking
- Demonstrated ability in defining, mobilizing and delivering complex programs in large organizations
- Strong background of leading teams, comprising both business and IT specialists
- A demonstrable ability to turn business requirements into technology solutions with the commercial acumen to create supporting business cases
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with ability to build relationships at senior management and CXO levels
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 80%, depending on client requirements
- Live within 2 hours’ drive time or be willing to relocate to one of the following Infosys hub offices – Chicago, IL, Indianapolis, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia and New Jersey.

- Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree
- CPSM, CPSD, CIPS, CSCP, CPIM or equivalent procurement and supply chain certification preferred
- Expertise in one or more procurement disciplines including strategic sourcing, category management, supplier development, contract lifecycle management, procurement operations or supplier relationship management
- Experience leading Source-to-Pay (S2P), Procure-to-Pay (P2P) or Procurement Center of Excellence transformation initiatives within global manufacturing organizations
- Experience developing spend analytics, procurement KPI frameworks, supplier scorecards, savings tracking methodologies and procurement performance dashboards
- Experience designing global procurement shared-services organizations, procurement operating models, governance frameworks and service-delivery structures
- Depth in one or more ERP procurement areas including Supplier Management, Strategic Sourcing, Contract Management, Requisitioning, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Supplier Collaboration and Accounts Payable integration
- Experience leading programs where stakeholder engagement is a key requisite to achieving successful program/project delivery
- Proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines and challenging constraints
- Ability to collaborate within the firm and leverage existing resources
- Working knowledge of agile methodologies
- Demonstrate thought leadership, ability to conceptualize and drive new solution / service offerings and take them to market
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary
The total compensation for this role is between $154,375 to $193,125
