Role summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Scala Developer to join our Technology team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs, backend components, and integrations that power our application platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Scala, Java, and MySQL, with a passion for building scalable and reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Scala.
• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Develop and optimize database solutions using MySQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application performance and reliability issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to software design and development best practices.
• Support CI/CD implementation and deployment automation initiatives

• 6+ years of overall IT industry experience, with strong expertise in software development.
• Strong programming experience in Scala, and familiarity with Scala frameworks.
• Good working knowledge of Java and backend application development.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Functional Programming (FP) concepts.
• Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance applications and services.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience in the banking and financial services domain is preferred.
