Principal - Manufacturing Finance & Backoffice - Infosys Consulting
Infosys Consulting, the management and technology consulting unit of Infosys Ltd, is seeking motivated Manufacturing Industry Consultants. Management Consultants seeking long-term growth and career-enhancing opportunities will find both as part of our team of front-runners in Manufacturing Industry consulting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years’ experience in the Manufacturing sector with a strong understanding of one or more of the following industries: Automotive, Aerospace, Defense and Industrial Products. Successful candidates will understand manufacturing, distribution and supply chain for discrete and continuous manufacturing processes, including enabling technologies. A key focus area would be the demonstrated ability to re-imagine manufacturing and help our clients innovate and transform their companies for the future leveraging Industry 4.0, machine learning, AI, IoT and other enabling technologies. The ability to create collaborative partnerships internally and externally is highly desirable. The role also requires practical experience in manufacturing finance and backoffice transformation, including accounting processes, shared services and ERP-enabled operating models.

About the Role
As a Principal, you will lead and manage delivery of consulting engagements, being responsible for quality, budget and staffing, working closely with senior client managers. You will contribute to the firm’s development by guiding and mentoring teams and sharing knowledge. You will be recognized as an expert in your respective domain and contribute to advancing Infosys Consulting’s thought leadership in the industry.
Manufacturing Strategy & Design

  • Develop manufacturing strategy and implementation roadmaps to help manufacturing companies transform and modernize their factories to improve throughput, improve quality and lower cost of production
  • Support business case and roadmap definitions by linking digital capabilities to business value levers/benefits
  • Assess manufacturing finance and backoffice processes across record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory accounting, fixed assets, intercompany accounting and financial close
  • Define target operating models, controls, service-delivery structures and implementation roadmaps for finance, accounting and shared-services organizations

Consulting Delivery
  • Lead the design and delivery of client advisory, solution delivery and organizational transformation engagements in standalone projects or as part of wider client programs
  • Advise clients on strategy and detailed use cases by leveraging insights from industry best practices
  • Lead and manage a team of consultants to develop concise and practical strategies, roadmap and/or re-engineering program recommendations with a clear implementation path
  • Seek out client input in a structured manner to better understand needs and develop ideas for how to meet those needs
  • Collaborate with clients to define long-term vision, goals and strategies
  • Direct teams of global consulting, IT professionals & subject matter experts in establishing comprehensive business and functional requirements, then translating those requirements into actionable project initiatives with associated metrics
  • Play a key liaison and coordinator between the business, IT, senior management, vendor teams and other members of the change programs
  • Lead ERP-enabled finance transformation from process assessment and business requirements through solution design, testing, data conversion, cutover and adoption
  • Advise clients on chart of accounts, ledgers, legal entities, business units, costing, subledger-to-general-ledger integration, master data and financial reporting

Practice Development
  • Provide insights on new and emerging manufacturing best practices and contribute to the development of service offerings
  • Work with other practice members to support Infosys Consulting thought leadership activities and develop innovative assets, including differentiated points of view and methodologies
  • Build social networks that enable knowledge and information flow and stay abreast of market trends and how manufacturing companies need to respond
  • Prepare thought papers and participate in industry conferences and forums
  • Contribute to practice growth and vitality through roles such as recruitment, training and retention

People Management
  • Coach and develop junior team members to deliver quality results and promote professional development

Business Development
  • Lead small, medium sized sales pursuits and business development activities ranging from creation of client proposals to formulating commercial constructs / contracts
  • Develop and build relationships at senior management and CXO levels
  • Formulate and present Infosys Consulting propositions and service offerings
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with at least 3-5 years of management consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm or manufacturing company
  • 5-7 years of experience in working on one or more of the following areas – Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Technology
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations or backoffice transformation, with working knowledge of financial statements, period-end close, reconciliations, internal controls and management reporting
  • Hands-on consulting or program experience with a leading ERP platform such as Oracle Cloud ERP / Oracle E-Business Suite, SAP S/4HANA or an equivalent enterprise finance platform
  • Working knowledge of design thinking
  • Demonstrated ability in defining, mobilizing and delivering complex programs in large organizations
  • Strong background of leading teams, comprising both business and IT specialists
  • A demonstrable ability to turn business requirements into technology solutions with the commercial acumen to create supporting business cases
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with ability to build relationships at senior management and CXO levels
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 80%, depending on client requirements
  • Live within 2 hours’ drive time or be willing to relocate to one of the following Infosys hub offices – Chicago, IL, Indianapolis, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia and New Jersey.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • Good depth of knowledge in one or more manufacturing domain areas – production planning, production (continuous, discrete), supply chain, quality, sourcing
  • CPA, CMA or equivalent accounting qualification is preferred
  • Depth in one or more ERP finance areas, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, Cost Accounting, Tax or Consolidation
  • Experience designing global or regional shared-services / backoffice models, including governance, service levels, controls, process ownership and transition planning
  • Experience leading programs where stakeholder engagement is a key requisite to achieving successful program/project delivery
  • Proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines and challenging constraints
  • Ability to collaborate within the firm and leverage existing resources
  • Working knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Demonstrate thought leadership, ability to conceptualize and drive new solution service offerings and take them to market
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary

The total annual compensation for this role is between $154,375 to $193,125
