ServiceNow HAM/SAM Developer – JD
The ideal candidate will lead and deliver OOB implementations for HAM and SAM, ensuring robust asset lifecycle processes, data quality, integrations with enterprise systems/tools, and compliance-ready reporting. This role requires strong hands-on configuration skills, data migration experience, and the ability to build/maintain integrations and automation using ServiceNow best practices

Experience level:

  • 5+ years’ experience and proven specialization in ServiceNow ITAM implementation
  • 3+ HAM/SAM implementations as Developer

Job Description

HAM (Hardware Asset Management)
  • Implement and configure ServiceNow HAM OOB processes end-to-end, including: Procurement intake / ordering alignment, Stockroom setup and inventory operations, Asset allocation / deployment / assignment, Maintenance / refresh, Retirement / disposal
  • Configure and manage Stockrooms, Transfer Orders, inventory movement, asset check-in/check-out, and related inventory controls.
  • Set up and govern Hardware Models, Model Categories, Manufacturers, and standardization rules.
  • Ensure hardware asset records align appropriately with CMDB CIs where applicable (data quality, duplication controls, lifecycle alignment).
  • Support operational readiness through runbooks, documentation, and stakeholder training for asset teams.

SAM (Software Asset Management) – OOB Implementation
  • Implement and configure ServiceNow SAM OOB capabilities including software model/catalog setup, normalization concepts, entitlement tracking, and license/compliance reporting as applicable.
  • Build and govern the software catalog and maintain data quality for software models and discovery/inventory sources.
  • Support implementation for Tier-1 publishers such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Adobe, IBM, including required configuration and compliance inputs.
  • Experience in integrating ServiceNow with other SAM tools, end point management tools, mobile device management tools, procurement management tools and other third party applications
  • Ability to write JavaScript code that is easy to read, follows standards with extensibility and also to write AngularJS widgets for the Service Portal
  • Hands on experience in building integrations using REST / SOAP API, OKTA / SSO
  • Good understanding of other integration technologies is plus (e.g. MFT/ SFTP, batch processing)
  • Hands on experience in building transform maps and data migration
  • Hands on experience in scripting languages (Java, Angular etc.)
  • Good understanding of CMDB, Discovery, Asset management is required
  • Client side and server side java scripting.
  • Unit and regression test implemented solutions as required. Support User Acceptance Tests and implement code into Production.

  • Propose data model, design changes to processes and products, exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment.
  • Design and develop ServiceNow data model to support process integrations
  • Support and coordinate scheduling and execution of releases, product upgrades, new technology deployments
  • Participate in and support ServiceNow version upgrades. Install, test and take new applications live in ServiceNow
  • Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training

Soft skills
  • Excellent Analytical and troubleshooting skill.
  • Excellent in Verbal, written communication.
  • Creative thinking in implementing Service improvements (automation, incident reduction, etc.).
  • Willingness and flexibility to learn new technologies, scale up quickly and adapt to different roles as the situation demands.
