Job Description
Today, the corporate landscape is dynamic and the world ahead is full of possibilities! None of the amazing things we do at Infosys would be possible without an equally amazing culture, the environment where ideas can flourish and where you are empowered to move forward as far as your ideas will take you.
At Infosys, we assure that your career will never stand still, we will inspire you to build what’s next and we will navigate further together. Our journey of learnability, values and trusted relationships with our clients continue to be the cornerstones of our organization and these values are upheld only because of our people.
Your role
The Project Engineering Lead is responsible for the end to end leadership of complex R&D and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs that span multiple projects, disciplines, and stakeholders. The role ensures strategic alignment, disciplined execution, and delivery of program objectives across the full product development lifecycle, from concept through validation and industrialization.
The R&D Program Manager provides structure, governance, and transparency across R&D programs, ensuring consistency in processes, milestones, dependencies, and decision making across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and product management.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Own the overall R&D / NPI program plan, aligning scope, milestones, and deliverables with business and technology strategy.
- Translate product and technology roadmaps into executable R&D programs with clear phase gates and success criteria.
- Ensure alignment of multiple projects within the program to deliver integrated outcomes rather than isolated results.
Cross Functional Coordination- Lead and orchestrate cross functional teams including R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Product Management.
- Establish and enforce common processes, templates, and governance, especially where program ground rules or standards are missing or evolving.
- Act as the primary escalation point for program level issues, dependencies, and trade offs.
Planning, Execution & Control- Build and maintain integrated program schedules, managing inter project dependencies, critical paths, and milestones.
- Monitor progress, risks, and issues across the full program portfolio; drive corrective actions where deviations occur.
- Ensure disciplined change management for scope, schedule, and resource impacts at program level
Governance, Risk & Decision Support- Establish program governance cadence (reviews, steering committees, gate readiness).
- Proactively identify technical, operational, and execution risks; ensure mitigation plans are in place and tracked.
- Prepare fact based decision material to support leadership trade offs on priorities, resources, and investments.
Communication & Stakeholder Management- Provide clear, consistent, and transparent communication on program status, risks, and key decisions to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Align external partners and suppliers, where applicable, to program objectives and timelines.
Required Qualifications & Experience- Good knowledge of steam turbines; turbogenerator or/and plant equipment expertise.
- Typically 5+ years experience in R&D, NPI, engineering project or program management in an industrial or technology environment.
- Proven track record managing multi project R&D programs with high technical complexity.
- Solid understanding of end to end product development (concept, design, validation, compliance, industrialization).
- Languages: English: fluent working proficiency (mandatory), French: working proficiency is a strong advantage
Required Skills & Competencies- Strong program level thinking: ability to see dependencies, integration points, and long term impacts beyond individual projects.
- Excellent leadership and influence skills in matrix, multi location environments.
- High rigor in planning, execution, and governance while remaining pragmatic and outcome focused.
- Strong communication skills, including executive level reporting and facilitation.
- Ability to work effectively in environments with ambiguity and evolving processes, setting structure where needed
