Role Description:
The SAP Reporting & Embedded Analytics Consultant is responsible for delivering S/4HANA Embedded Analytics solutions as part of an SAP ECC to S/4HANA brownfield conversion.
The role ensures continuity of critical operational and statutory reports while enabling modern, role based analytics using CDS Views, Analytical Queries, and Fiori apps/tiles. The consultant works closely with Finance, Procurement, Logistics, and technical teams to ensure reporting accuracy, performance, and alignment with public sector audit and assurance requirements.
Location: Sydney, NSW
Salary: AUD 129,311 – 142,018 Annual Gross

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and enhance S/4HANA Embedded Analytics solutions using: CDS Views (Basic, Composite, and Consumption), CDS Analytical Queries, S/4HANA standard analytical content
- Develop and configure Fiori analytical apps and tiles tailored to business roles.
- Enable real time operational reporting leveraging the Universal Journal and S/4HANA data model.
- Analyse existing ECC reports (ABAP reports, extractors, queries) and assess: Suitability for replacement with Embedded Analytics, required remediation or redesign due to S/4HANA data model changes
- Support transition of legacy reports to S/4HANA compliant reporting approaches.
- Ensure continuity of business critical and statutory reports during and after conversion.
- Work closely with functional teams (Finance, Procurement, Inventory, etc.) to: Understand reporting and KPI requirements, Validate analytical data definitions and calculations
- Support reconciliation and validation of report outputs before and after conversion.
- Ensure alignment of analytics with public sector financial, procurement, and audit requirements.
- Configure Fiori catalogues, groups/spaces, and tiles for analytical content.
- Align reporting access with security roles and authorisations in coordination with Basis and Security teams.
- Ensure performance optimisation and usability of analytical apps.
- Support integration testing, regression testing, and UAT for reporting and analytics.
- Assist with cutover preparation relating to reporting readiness.
- Provide support during go live and hyper care, including defect resolution and performance tuning.
- Support documentation and handover to support teams.
Essential:- Strong hands-on experience with: CDS Views (VDM, analytical annotations), CDS Analytical Queries, Embedded Analytics framework in S/4HANA
- Experience building analytical content over: Universal Journal (ACDOCA), Logistics and procurement data models
- Hands on experience configuring and deploying: Fiori analytical apps, KPI modelling and tiles, Role based analytical dashboards
- Understanding of Fiori architecture and performance considerations.
- Experience supporting reporting and analytics during ECC to S/4HANA brownfield conversions.
- Strong understanding of S/4HANA data model changes impacting reporting, Decommissioning of classic tables and reports
- Ability to identify and manage reporting related risks during conversion.
- Experience or strong understanding of government or Australian public sector reporting requirements.
- Awareness of Audit and compliance expectations, Data accuracy and reconciliation controls, Controlled access to sensitive financial and operational data
Preferred:- 6 -10 years of SAP reporting or analytics experience.
- Demonstrated hands on experience with S/4HANA Embedded Analytics and CDS views.
- Experience working on SAP S/4HANA conversion or upgrade projects.
- SAP S/4HANA Analytics or ABAP/CDS certifications are desirable.
