Role: Business Development Manager (Hunter – Cross Industry)
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Role Summary
To drive new account development and revenue growth across multiple industry verticals, including Life Sciences, Telecom, Hi-Tech, Retail, Logistics, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Energy, and Utilities.
The role is responsible for:
- Identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities (new logos)
- Building customer maps by identifying key stakeholders and decision-makers
- Driving proposal development, pricing, and contract (MSA) negotiations
- Expanding Infosys footprint through strategic GTM execution and alliance collaboration
Work involves a blend of:- Business development (hunting)
- CXO-level client engagement
- Strategic planning and deal execution, ensuring sustainable growth across industries and accounts
Key Responsibilities- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across industries
- Build and manage strong pipeline (3–5x coverage)
- Own end-to-end sales lifecycle (lead → closure → contract)
- Develop customer maps and executive relationships (CXO / CXO-1)
- Lead proposal creation, pricing strategy, and MSA negotiations
- Drive Go-To-Market strategies across target industries
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis
- Review sales plan, pursuit plan, and pipeline with leadership
- Work with delivery teams to ensure solution and execution alignment
- Provide inputs for alliances and partner ecosystem development
- Maintain strong pipeline hygiene, CRM discipline, and forecasting
KPIs (Hunter Focus)- New logo acquisition (primary KPI)
- Pipeline build (3–5x coverage)
- Deal closure / bookings
- Revenue from new accounts
- Win ratio and deal size
Experience & Qualifications- 12–18+ years in IT services / consulting / business development
- Proven hunter track record (new business acquisition)
- Experience across multiple industries (any combination):
- Life Sciences | Telecom | Hi-Tech | Retail | Logistics
- Financial Services | Manufacturing | Energy | Utilities
- Strong CXO engagement and deal closure capabilities
- Experience in proposal creation, pricing, and contract negotiations
- Understanding of:
- Global Delivery Model
- AI / Digital / Cloud / Modernization / Platform-led services
- Strong communication skills in Japanese and English
