Role: Collaboration / Microsoft 365 Architect
Location: Sweden
Technology/Experience Required: Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies and enterprise architecture.

Job Description
As a Collaboration / Microsoft 365 Architect, the primary responsibility is to design, govern, and optimize M365 collaboration platforms while ensuring secure, scalable, and usercentric solutions for enterprise customers.
The role involves architectural guidance, L3 support, governance definition, ServiceNow ticket oversight, and close collaboration with business, security, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Platform Design

  • Define and maintain end‑to‑end Microsoft 365 collaboration architecture, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
  • Design tenant‑level governance models for collaboration, security, identity, and compliance.
  • Drive best practices for information architecture, lifecycle management, and adoption.
Ticket Oversight & Problem Management
  • Act as L3 / Escalation point for complex M365 collaboration issues raised via ServiceNow (SNOW).
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents and define permanent fixes.
  • Provide architectural recommendations to minimize incident recurrence.
Exchange Online
  • Architect and troubleshoot:
  • Mail flow and transport rules
  • Shared mailboxes, distribution lists, and M365 Groups
  • Hybrid mail flow and coexistence scenarios
  • Handle advanced issues such as nondelivery reports, spam/phishing investigation, journaling, and retention policies.

Microsoft Teams
  • Design and govern:
    • Teams and channel lifecycle
    • Meeting, calling, and conferencing policies
    • External access, guest access, federation
  • Troubleshoot complex Teams issues (chat, meetings, PSTN, QoS, media quality).

SharePoint Online & OneDrive
  • Architect:
    • SharePoint site structures (Communication, Team sites)
    • Permissions, inheritance, and external sharing strategy
  • Resolve issues related to:
    • File access, sync errors, storage quotas
    • Ownership transfers for leavers
    • Data recovery and retention
  • Define governance for Shared Libraries and OneDrive lifecycle.

Security, Compliance & Governance
  • Implement and manage:
    • Sensitivity labels, DLP, retention policies
    • Conditional Access and identity security controls
  • Partner with security teams to align M365 with enterprise compliance standards.
  • Define external collaboration policies and trusted partner handling.

Automation & Optimization
  • Use PowerShell extensively for:
    • Bulk operations
    • Tenant reporting
    • Troubleshooting and remediation
  • Contribute to automation and standardization initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Participate in:
    • Daily internal team calls for review of escalations
    • Weekly governance and service review meetings with Service Owners
  • Engage with business users and IT stakeholders to:
    • Understand collaboration needs
    • Guide adoption, usage, and best practices
    • Drive platform improvements

Experience
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong focus on Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
  • Proven experience handling enterprise‑scale M365 tenants.
  • Excellent customer engagement, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in ITIL / ITSM environments.

Technical Skills
  • Expert‑level knowledge of Microsoft 365, including:
    • Exchange Online
    • Microsoft Teams
    • SharePoint Online
    • OneDrive
    • Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills for M365 administration.
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Identity and access management
    • Security and compliance in M365
    • ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
  • Exposure to Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) is an added advantage.

Qualifications & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred certifications:
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
  • ITIL Foundation (preferred)
