Role - Enterprise Infrastructure Architect - Hybrid Cloud Platforms
Location – Germany, UK and Netherlands (Any location)
Unit – CIS (Cloud and Infrastructure)

Job Description
Role Overview
The Enterprise Infrastructure Architect – Hybrid Cloud Platforms is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the end‑to‑end infrastructure architecture supporting a modern hybrid cloud ecosystem. This includes on‑premises data centers, private cloud platforms, public cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), edge environments, and the automation, security, and operational frameworks that bind them together.
The architect acts as the enterprise authority on hybrid cloud strategy, platform engineering, infrastructure modernization, Zero Trust security architecture, and cross‑cloud governance—ensuring that infrastructure platforms are scalable, secure, cost‑efficient, resilient, and automation‑driven.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hybrid Cloud Architecture & Strategy

  • Define the target state hybrid cloud architecture spanning data centers, private cloud, virtualized platforms, Kubernetes, and public cloud.
  • Develop enterprise blueprints, reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards.
  • Evaluate and select hybrid cloud technologies (VMware, Anthos, Azure Arc, AWS Outposts, OpenShift, Nutanix, etc.).
  • Ensure designs support portability, vendor‑agnostic adoption, and multi‑cloud governance.
  • Partner with CTO, CISO, Cloud Platform, and Network teams to align strategy to business goals.
2. Platform Engineering & Automation Frameworks
  • Define architecture for platform engineering capabilities: automation, pipelines, IaC, GitOps, policy‑as‑code.
  • Deliver reusable IaC modules (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible) for consistent deployment across clouds.
  • Establish automated guardrails for configuration drift, compliance, and security baselines.
  • Drive the adoption of self‑service infrastructure platforms and developer enablement portals.
3. Infrastructure Modernization & Cloud Adoption
  • Lead modernization of legacy workloads (VM-based, monoliths) to cloud‑native platforms (containers, serverless).
  • Architect migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor) with dependency mapping, risk mitigation, and business alignment.
  • Define platform capabilities for compute, storage, networking, identity, and data services across hybrid environments.
  • Enable AI‑ready infrastructure designs including GPU integration, high-performance networking, and scalable storage tiers.
4. Security, Zero Trust & Compliance
  • Embed Zero Trust principles across hybrid cloud—identity, segmentation, encryption, and posture control.
  • Align infrastructure with regulatory and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2, CIS, NIST).
  • Define security integration patterns across cloud and on‑prem: IAM, PAM, KMS, certificates, secrets management.
  • Partner with security architects to ensure platform designs meet enterprise security requirements.
5. Resilience, Observability & Performance Engineering
  • Architect high‑availability and disaster recovery models across hybrid environments.
  • Define availability zones, failover strategies, multi‑region patterns, and RTO/RPO targets.
  • Implement full‑stack observability: logging, metrics, tracing, synthetic testing, SLO/SLI models.
  • Ensure platform performance aligns with business workloads, including real-time and latency-sensitive applications.
6. Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
  • Establish enterprise policies for segmentation, tagging, lifecycle management, patching, and resource standards.
  • Govern platform consistency through enterprise architecture boards and design reviews.
  • Ensure hybrid cloud decisions are aligned to risk appetite, operational readiness, and cost controls.
7. FinOps & Cost Management
  • Partner with FinOps teams to incorporate cost efficiency into all infrastructure designs.
  • Optimize cloud and on‑prem consumption models—compute rightsizing, storage tiers, data egress, GPU utilization.
  • Provide oversight for cloud cost forecasting, chargeback models, and optimization recommendations.
8. Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
  • Act as the principal advisor to senior leadership on hybrid cloud strategy and infrastructure modernization.
  • Communicate architecture decisions to business leaders using clear, outcome‑driven narratives.
  • Mentor architects and engineers; drive adoption of architecture standards across global teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
  • Strong architecture background in:
    • Hybrid cloud platforms (VMware, Anthos, Azure Arc, OpenShift, Outposts)
    • Public cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)
    • Kubernetes platforms (EKS, GKE, AKS, OpenShift)
    • Infrastructure automation (Terraform, GitOps, pipelines)
    • Enterprise networking (hybrid connectivity, transit networks, security segmentation)
    • Storage & data lifecycle management
  • Deep knowledge of Zero Trust, identity, observability, HA/DR patterns, and SRE principles.
Architecture & Strategy
  • Experience creating enterprise‑wide architecture roadmaps, blueprints, and reference implementations.
  • Proven ability to design infrastructure for large, complex, regulated enterprises.
  • Strong understanding of AI infrastructure, enterprise data platforms, and cloud‑native modernization.
Soft Skills
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional architecture decisions and influence senior leaders.
  • Partner effectively with engineering, security, operations, finance, and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cloud architect certifications: AWS SA‑Pro, GCP PCA, Azure Architect Expert.
  • Enterprise architecture frameworks: TOGAF, SAFe, ITIL.
  • Experience in large-scale hybrid cloud transformations within BFSI, telco, public sector, or global manufacturing.
  • 12+ years in infrastructure/platform roles, with 5+ years in architecture leadership.
Key Deliverables
  • Hybrid cloud Target State Architecture
  • Enterprise architecture patterns, blueprints, and governance model
  • Landing zones (cloud & on‑prem) with integrated guardrails
  • IaC modules and automation frameworks
  • Resilience, security, and cost optimization playbooks
  • Platform modernization roadmap (12–36 months)
