The Network Engineer will focus on engineering and delivering enterprise data network technologies, with an emphasis on strategic project delivery across a global network. This is a role local to the Napa Valley area and requires frequent local travel to wineries throughout the area, and occasionally outside it.

This position will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of stable and efficient network services for stakeholders that drive shareholder value, particularly in the wine business. The Network Engineer will work with the appropriate technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors/partners, and leadership to ensure that network services meet company needs and required performance metrics (SLAs).

Responsibilities include gathering requirements for new implementations, architecting and optimizing key functional areas—particularly network infrastructure technologies—and documenting solutions for handoff to support providers. The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships with key business partners, onsite engineering teams, and vendors. The organization has an excellent reputation within the wine industry, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate the importance of maintaining that relationship.

  • Design and lead large-scale network service project implementations, working with industrial engineering teams, IT groups, and external service providers
  • Direct vendors to ensure successful completion of networking project deliverables
  • Design, configure, install, and maintain network infrastructure components (data/voice/video), including user, industrial, and retail/hospitality networks
  • Provide escalation support for any network issues detected by support providers
  • Ensure that all project-based work within the global network is implemented with quality, delivered on time, and meets enterprise‑class reliability standards
  • Analyze network functions and evaluate services provided; develop action plans and recommendations; identify milestones and issues; generate necessary reports
  • Evaluate, recommend, justify, and ensure proper toolsets and procedures are implemented, maintained, and used effectively
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and see that all issues are addressed and resolved
  • Plan, develop, and design network management and maintenance projects, including policies, procedures, operational improvements, and technology integration
  • Provide leadership across converged technology platforms and foster effective collaboration to deliver high‑quality customer service
  • Monitor and stay current with emerging technologies for possible adoption
  • Work within a team environment to manage systems, lead upgrades, and coordinate installs
  • Provide project warranty support through the ticketing system until project closure
