Infosys Public Services is seeking a Backend Engineer- Python/GCP to join our team.

Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):

The Backend Engineer- Python/GCP is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-performance mission-critical applications to meet the company’s strategic objectives. The candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the technologies involved and Agile SDLC models

• Maintain and contribute to the product platform as necessary.
• Maintain and support products that are released to stakeholders and customers.
• Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be used to strengthen technology platforms and development practices.

Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:

• Minimum 4 years of experience building scalable, reliable backend systems.
• 4+ Years of software development experience
• Proficient in Python with hands-on expertise in modern frameworks/libraries like FastAPI and Pydantic.
• 4+ Years of software development experience
• Experienced in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code
• 4+ years of experience in Python (FastAPI, Pydantic)
• 4+ years of experience in RESTful API design
• 4+ years of experience in PostgreSQL
• 4+ years of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• 4+ years of experience in Terraform (IaC)
• 4+ years of experience in GitHub (version control & CI/CD)
• 4+ years of experience in Scalable system architecture
• 4+ years of experience in Testing & debugging backend services
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in the public sector

Educational Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master's degree program are strongly preferred.

The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.

The estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows:
In CA/ WA/NY/CO/MD/IL/MN/NJ: $73,000 to $102,200
In Washington, DC: $66,100 to $100,200
