Technology – Test Strategy, Test Management tools like Solman, ALM, Defect Management
Job Description
1. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Test Lead to drive the quality assurance processes across our software development lifecycle.
2. In this role, you will be the champion of product quality, responsible for designing comprehensive testing strategies, managing a team of QA engineers, and ensuring that all software releases meet our high standards for performance, reliability, and security.
3. You will act as the crucial bridge between development, product management, and QA, transforming business requirements into actionable test plans.
4. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in both manual and automated testing, capable of mentoring a team while keeping projects on schedule and defect-free.
Your Role
1. Test Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement overarching test strategies, detailed test plans, and test cases based on project requirements and technical specifications.
2. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and allocate tasks to a team of QA engineers and testers, ensuring high productivity and continuous skill development.
3. Test Execution & Monitoring: Oversee the execution of functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, monitoring daily progress against project timelines.
4. Automation Strategy: Identify opportunities for test automation and guide the team in building, maintaining, and scaling automated test scripts to reduce manual overhead.
5. Defect Management: Establish and enforce a rigorous defect lifecycle—from discovery and logging (via tools like Jira) to triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution verification.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with software developers, product owners, and business analysts to understand features, resolve ambiguities, and proactively mitigate quality risks.
7. Reporting & Metrics: Generate daily/weekly QA status reports, tracking crucial metrics (e.g., defect density, test coverage, pass/fail rates) to provide leadership with a clear view of release readiness.
Required
1. Rich experience in Software Quality Assurance, with few years serving in a QA Lead, Test Lead, or QA Management role.
2. Testing Methodologies: Deep understanding of software testing concepts, including functional, non-functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
3. Tools: High proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, ALM).
4. SDLC & Agile: Proven experience working within Agile/Scrum environments and a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
5. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
Preferred
1. Certifications: Active ISTQB Certification (e.g., Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Manager) or equivalent Agile/QA certifications.
2. Automation Experience: Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Playwright) and basic coding proficiency (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
3. Specialized Testing: Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) or basic API testing (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
4. Database Skills: Ability to write SQL queries to validate data integrity and backend database transitions.
