Role Summary
We are looking for a highly capable Software Developer with strong experience in IBM SevOne and Advanced PHP development to support the design, development, customization, and integration of enterprise-grade monitoring and application solutions. This role requires a blend of network observability platform expertise and backend software engineering skills, with the ability to develop scalable PHP-based applications, APIs, integrations, dashboards, and automation workflows in a complex IT environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in IBM SevOne NPM, strong PHP development skills, experience working in Linux/Unix environments, and the ability to integrate SevOne with business systems, operational platforms, and custom web applications.

Key Responsibilities
IBM SevOne Development & Administration

• Design, configure, and enhance IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM) solutions to support enterprise monitoring needs.
• Develop and maintain custom dashboards, reports, alerts, and performance views in SevOne.
• Customize SevOne data collection and analytics to support network, infrastructure, and service monitoring.
• Configure and support SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow, IPFIX, and related telemetry integrations.
• Troubleshoot SevOne platform issues involving collectors, appliances, data ingestion, thresholds, polling, and reporting.
• Work with network and infrastructure teams to onboard devices, services, and business-critical KPIs into SevOne.
• Support SevOne upgrades, patching, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Advanced PHP Development
• Design, develop, and maintain PHP-based enterprise applications, portals, APIs, and backend services.
• Build custom web interfaces and applications that integrate with IBM SevOne, internal systems, and third-party platforms.
• Develop reusable, secure, and scalable PHP modules using modern frameworks where applicable (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or custom MVC frameworks).
• Write high-quality object-oriented PHP code following best practices in maintainability, performance, and security.
• Optimize existing PHP applications for speed, reliability, and scalability.
• Integrate PHP applications with SQL/NoSQL databases, APIs, monitoring systems, and automation tools.

Integration & Automation

• Develop system integrations between IBM SevOne and:
• ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy)
• Reporting platforms
• Internal operations tools
• CMDB and inventory systems
• Ticketing and alerting systems
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, web services, and middleware for seamless data exchange.
• Develop scripts and automation for monitoring workflows, provisioning, configuration updates, and alert handling.
• Support ETL/data transformation processes to move monitoring data into business intelligence or analytics ecosystems.

Application Support & Enhancement

• Provide L2/L3 technical support for PHP-based applications and SevOne-related integrations.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Monitor application performance and proactively identify bottlenecks or stability issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, network teams, and business stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, release planning, testing, deployment, and change management processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• IBM SevOne / Monitoring Skills
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM SevOne NPM, including platform customization, configuration, and support.
• Good understanding of network monitoring concepts and performance metrics.

Experience with:

• SNMP
• NetFlow / sFlow / IPFIX
• TCP/IP
• Routing and switching concepts
• Network performance troubleshooting
• Ability to create meaningful dashboards, reports, threshold policies, and alerts.

PHP Development Skills

• Strong expertise in Advanced PHP development with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• Deep understanding of:
• Object-Oriented PHP
• MVC architecture
• PHP performance tuning
• Secure coding practices

Session handling, authentication, and API security

• Experience with modern PHP frameworks such as:
• Laravel
• Symfony
• CodeIgniter
• Zend / Laminas (preferred if relevant)
• Strong knowledge of frontend integration with PHP applications using:
• HTML5
• CSS3
• JavaScript
• AJAX
• JSON

Database & API Skills

• Strong experience with relational databases such as:
• MySQL
• MariaDB
• PostgreSQL
• MS SQL Server
• Ability to design queries, stored procedures, views, and optimize SQL performance.
• Hands-on experience developing and consuming:
• REST APIs
• SOAP services
• JSON/XML integrations

Linux / DevOps / Tools

• Strong experience in Linux/Unix environments.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and server-side troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with:
• Apache / Nginx
• Git / version control
• CI/CD pipelines
• Docker / containers (preferred)
• Monitoring and logging tools
• Understanding of deployment, release, and environment management processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in telecom, managed services, banking, or large enterprise IT environments.
• Exposure to monitoring/observability tools such as:
• SolarWinds
• Zabbix
• Nagios
• PRTG
• Splunk / ELK
• Familiarity with microservices, message queues, and integration patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of Python, Bash, or JavaScript as secondary scripting/development tools.
• Understanding of ITIL processes, incident management, and production support models.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
