Role Overview
We are looking for a Technical Manager – Data Engineering with strong hands‑on experience in Azure, PySpark, and ETL, and a solid understanding of Retail data domains. This role will be responsible for leading technical delivery, engaging with clients, translating business requirements into scalable data solutions, and owning end‑to‑end delivery across distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of cloud‑native data platforms on Azure using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, and Synapse
Drive end‑to‑end ETL / ELT pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and distributed processing frameworks
Ensure scalable, performant, and reliable data processing aligned with business and analytics requirements
Review and govern technical architecture, data models, and transformation logic
Lead technical discussions, solution walkthroughs, and design reviews with business and IT stakeholders
Proactively manage technical risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans
Work closely with business teams to understand retail processes and data consumption patterns for analytics and reporting
Ensure data quality, reconciliation, and consistency across downstream analytics and reporting platforms
Plan execution, track progress, and ensure on‑time delivery against project milestones
Enforce best practices in coding standards, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and DevOps
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Data Engineering, Analytics, BI, Architecture, and Product Owners


Required Skills & Experience

12+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Analytics platforms
Strong hands‑on expertise in Azure data services, PySpark, and SQL
Proven experience leading technical teams and driving delivery ownership
Strong understanding of retail data domains (Supply Chain, Sales, Customer, Finance, etc.)
Experience working in client‑facing roles, with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
Ability to work effectively across business, functional, and technical teams


Nice to Have

Experience with large‑scale data modernization programs
Exposure to BI tools, self‑service analytics, and downstream consumption platforms
Experience in distributed / global delivery models
