SAP NetWeaver / SAP Basis Administrator (HANA Focus)
We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis / NetWeaver Administrator with strong SAP HANA Database expertise to support and enhance a complex, global SAP landscape. This role is critical to ensuring high availability, performance, stability, and continuous improvement across enterprise SAP systems.
You will work closely with global teams, project managers, DBAs, and infrastructure partners, supporting business‑critical SAP environments that operate across multiple time zones.
Role Overview- Support and administer SAP systems running on HANA, ASE, SQL Server, and MaxDB
- Ensure system reliability, performance optimization, and SLA adherence
- Participate in on‑call support, major incident management, maintenance windows, and project go‑lives
- Act as a trusted partner to business and IT stakeholders in a 24x7 global environment
Support aligned to Eastern Time Zone
Weekend, on‑call, and maintenance window support required
️ Key ResponsibilitiesSAP Basis / NetWeaver Administration- Administer, monitor, and support SAP systems (ABAP & Java stacks)
- Install, upgrade, patch, and maintain SAP NetWeaver and SAP Java systems
- Manage SAP GUI rollouts and version control
- Configure and support printers and SAP background jobs (SAP + Redwood Scheduler)
- Analyze traces, logs, dumps, memory and CPU utilization using:
- HANA Studio
- SAP HANA Cockpit
- DBA Cockpit
- Document and troubleshoot SAP interfaces and integrations
Incident, Change & Problem Management- Provide end‑user and application support
- Lead and manage major incident calls
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide detailed documentation
- Monitor service tickets and ensure SLA compliance
- Follow formal change management processes and collaborate with other service providers
- Provide continuous communication and status updates to management
SAP Solution Manager & Governance- Configure and manage SAP Solution Manager alerts
- Support ChaRM processes
- Facilitate Solution Manager execution and governance activities
Performance, Capacity & Continuous Improvement- Proactively evaluate system performance and capacity thresholds
- Support capacity planning, efficiency improvements, and process optimization
- Drive continuous improvement through trend analysis, metrics, and reporting
- Ensure procedures and work instructions are effective and non‑redundant
- Propose and implement improvements with management approval
Disaster Recovery & High Availability- Design, manage, and support DR systems for:
- SAP HANA
- SQL Server
- MaxDB
- SAP Content Servers
- Participate in DR drills, validation, and failover testing
Collaboration & Global Support- Work closely with Project Managers to understand and deliver SAP Basis requirements
- Coordinate with global teams and share best practices across regions
- Participate in knowledge sharing and cross‑site collaboration
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with company policies and regulations
Additional Requirement: SAP HANA Database AdministrationThe role requires strong hands‑on SAP HANA DB experience, including:- SAP HANA troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity management
- Analysis of:
- Expensive SQL statements
- Memory & CPU bottlenecks
- SQL execution plans
- Table optimization, delta merges, and data growth
- SAP HANA System Replication (HSR):
- Setup, monitoring, failover, and failback
- HA/DR validation and DR drills
- HANA upgrades, revisions, patching, and kernel compatibility management
- Backup, restore, validation, and recovery procedures
- OS‑level troubleshooting and performance analysis
- Deep understanding of HANA architecture (column store, row store, persistence layer)
✅ Required Qualifications & Experience- 8+ years of SAP Basis / SAP Administration experience
- 3+ years of hands‑on SAP HANA Database experience
- Strong experience supporting SAP systems on:
- Experience with:
- SAP Solution Manager
- SAP BTP, Fiori, Enterprise Portal, NWDI
- ITSM tools and SLA-driven environments
- Proven experience working in global 24x7 production environments
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
