Role Description:
In the role of Principal Consultant, we are looking for an experienced React / UI Developer with 8+ years of IT experience, including strong hands‑on work in React.js, modern JavaScript frameworks, UI/UX implementation, and API integration. The ideal candidate has solid full‑stack exposure (Java, Node.js), experience building reusable UI components, and working across Agile product teams.

Location: Sydney
Salary: AUD 150,742 – 171,215 Annual Gross

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop responsive, high‑quality web applications using React.js, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3/SASS/LESS.
  • Build reusable UI components, front‑end modules, and consistent design systems aligned with UX requirements.
  • Integrate front‑end applications with RESTful and SOAP APIs using Node.js, Express, and Java-based services.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Write clean, maintainable code following best practices, coding standards, and performance optimisation techniques.
  • Debug UI issues, conduct root‑cause analysis, and use browser dev tools for troubleshooting.
  • Develop backend logic and services as needed using Java/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, and related technologies.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and write efficient SQL/PLSQL queries.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and UI accessibility compliance.
  • Conduct unit testing and automation testing using tools like JUnit, Jasmine, Selenium, and related frameworks.
  • Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and QA teams to deliver complete, integrated solutions.
  • Use Git/GitHub for version control and support CI/CD workflows where required.
  • Maintain documentation for components, APIs, and technical implementations.
  • Support deployments, production debugging, and ongoing application maintenance.

Essential:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 10 years total IT experience, with 5+ years in SAP integrations.

Preferred:
  • 8+ years IT experience with 3+ years in React.js and 3+ years in UI/UX or API development.
  • Strong in JavaScript, React.js, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS.
  • Experience with Node.js, Express, AngularJS (1.x).
  • Strong backend understanding: Java, Spring, REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Strong database skills: SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Strong problem solving, debugging, and optimisation skills.
  • Experience with MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node).
  • Experience with MVC frameworks, Java/J2EE enterprise stack.
  • Familiarity with big‑data or blob storage environments (e.g., Splunk).
  • Exposure to UI design tools and graphic tools (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Understanding of testing frameworks (JUnit, Jasmine, Selenium).
  • Experience deploying apps on application servers like Tomcat, WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic.
