Role Description:

The SAP Procurement Consultant is a delivery-focused role responsible for supporting the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Inventory Management streams during an SAP ECC to S/4HANA brownfield conversion.

The role ensures continuity of procurement, invoice processing, and inventory operations, while supporting conversion impacts, testing, cutover, and post go live stabilisation in compliance with government procurement and financial control frameworks.

Location: Sydney, NSW
Salary: AUD 150,742 – 171,215 Annual Gross

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support procurement-related activities for the ECC to S/4HANA system conversion, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Assist with impact assessment for procurement and inventory processes arising from S/4HANA simplification and data model changes.
  • Support analysis and remediation of custom developments, enhancements, and integrations affecting procurement and inventory.
  • Participate in mock conversions, dress rehearsals, and cutover activities from a procurement perspective.
  • Support configuration and validation of SAP Purchasing processes, including Purchase requisitions and purchase orders, Contracts and scheduling agreements, Vendor master dependencies (in coordination with Finance)
  • Validate continuity of approval workflows, delegations, and procurement controls.
  • Support alignment of purchasing processes with government procurement policies and compliance requirements.
  • Support Invoice Processing and validation, including Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV), Three-way matching (PO, GR, Invoice), Invoice blocks and resolution
  • Assist in ensuring integration with Finance (AP) remains consistent post conversion.
  • Support defect resolution for invoice-related issues identified during testing and hyper care.
  • Support Inventory Management (IM) processes, including Goods receipts and goods issues, Stock transfers and adjustments, Inventory valuation impacts (in coordination with Finance)
  • Validate inventory data integrity and reconciliation before and after conversion.
  • Support testing and validation of inventory integrations with procurement and finance processes.
  • Execute and support testing cycles, including Integration testing, Regression testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Support procurement and inventory data validation and reconciliation activities.
  • Assist with cutover planning and execution, including business readiness checks.
  • Provide support during go live and hyper care, including issue triage and resolution.
  • Work closely with: Business procurement and inventory users, Finance and Logistics consultants, Technical and integration teams
  • Support preparation of process documentation, test evidence, and audit artefacts.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer and handover to support teams.

Essential:
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ECC and S/4HANA Procurement, including: Materials Management (MM), Purchasing and Procure to Pay, Invoice Verification, Inventory Management
  • Understanding of S/4HANA impacts on procurement and inventory, including data model and process changes.
  • Experience or strong understanding of public sector procurement and financial controls, including Delegation of authority, Compliance and audit requirements, Integration with funds and budget controls where applicable
  • Prior experience on government or Australian public sector projects is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of procurement and inventory impacts during: Brownfield system conversions, Data validation and reconciliation, Integration and downstream system dependencies
  • Ability to identify risks and escalate issues appropriately.
Preferred:
  • 5–10 years of SAP MM / Procurement consulting experience.
  • Prior involvement in SAP S/4HANA brownfield or upgrade projects.
  • Strong delivery and documentation skills.
  • SAP S/4HANA certification in Sourcing & Procurement is desirable.
