Principal Consultant - Business Consulting – Electric Utilities Industry (Kraken Platform)
Infosys consulting is seeking an experienced Utilities Industry consultant with strong domain knowledge in the electric, gas, or water utility industry and hands‑on experience delivering data conversions into modern customer and billing platforms (like the Kraken Platform). The ideal candidate will have practical expertise with Kraken, a next‑generation billing and customer platform, and a proven ability to manage complex data migration activities during large transformation programs.
This role requires a blend of functional utility knowledge, technical data skills, and implementation experience to ensure legacy customer, meter, billing, and financial data is accurately migrated into the new Kraken environment.
Responsibilities:
- Focus on consulting and advisory services for the Electric Utilities sector with focus on retail (energy billing, meter data, customer journeys, payments, System integrations, migrations).
- Strong influencing skills and ability to challenge traditional ways of thinking.
- Strong problem-solving skills within an agile working framework. Must be able to grasp the technical capabilities and constraints of the Kraken platform, or other similar platforms (such as Oracle CIS).
- Apply deep understanding of the Meter-to-Cash lifecycle within utilities, including customer setup, service orders, metering, usage calculation, rating, billing, payments, adjustments, and credit/collections.
- Being the knowledge base of how Kraken works and how we deliver the Kraken Platform
- Managing the relationship with key technology and exec stakeholders from the client and potential Partners. Being the escalation point for any technical issues and client concerns.
- Understanding the Kraken infrastructure, aligning client direction with the overall goal for the Kraken platform & business.
- Summarizing and articulating client needs, considerations, timelines internally to enable the ongoing development of the Kraken platform.
- Lead Infosys business consulting assignments and business development efforts and be responsible for executing such work on time and within budget.
- Lead client discussions regarding the design and implementation of digital solutions.
- Experience in managing complex technology implementation including migration programs.
- Execute and manage business consulting projects with different levels of complexity and specific workstreams within larger projects, effectively setting up a detailed project plan and executing work toward key milestones.
- Participate in Industry events and help in brand building.
- Work across multiple levels and multicultural teams.
- Maintain highly effective communication with client senior management.
- Respond to RFX from clients and prospects and manage the sales process.
Basic (Required) Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required.
- At least 10 years of industry experience with 5 years of experience in Utilities or comparable regulated industries
- Two to seven years of experience in leading engagements in Utilities, Energy, or natural resources focused consulting role or a strategic project management/advisor role.
- Familiarity with energy markets and underlying fundamentals, regulations, and policies; specific experience and/or knowledge of specific segments of the Utilities Retail
- Ability to travel 4 days a week to multiple local, national client locations.

Preferred Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience in the utility industry (electric, gas, or water).
- Hands‑on experience with data conversions for CIS or billing system implementations.
- Direct, practical experience with the Kraken billing/customer platform.
- Strong understanding of the Meter‑to‑Cash process and utility regulatory environment.
- Experience supporting multi‑cycle conversions in large transformation projects.
- Strong client-facing roles, stakeholder management, analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communications, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Strong agile delivery experience, client facing roles and stakeholder management.
- Sector-relevant experience in managing complex technology implementation or migration programs.
- Open minded individuals who are comfortable with ambiguity and an ever-changing environment
- Proven experience in software adaptation, deployment, and integration
- Understanding of customer billing and customer information management systems,
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients.
Estimated annual compensation will be $168,000 - $234,000
