Salary: AUD 142.604 - 159,547 AUD Annual Gross.

Role Summary
Hands‑on Technical Lead to deliver large‑scale migration of enterprise data warehouses to Snowflake in a regulated banking environment. The role provides technical leadership across design, build, data validation, and cutover, ensuring performance, data integrity, and regulatory compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead delivery of legacy enterprise data warehouse to Snowflake migration, including design, build, testing, and cutover.
- Act as technical SME for:
- Large data volumes (TB - PB scale)
- Core banking domains (Risk, Finance, Regulatory, Customer, AML)
- Batch, near real‑time, and analytical workloads
- Guide refactoring of:
- Complex SQL, transformations, and stored procedures
- Warehouse‑optimised schemas and performance patterns
- Design Snowflake solutions for performance, cost efficiency, and secure access.
- Drive data reconciliation, parallel runs, and cutover execution.
- Provide hands‑on leadership to delivery pods (design reviews, code reviews, issue resolution).
- Collaborate with platform, cloud, security, and governance teams to meet banking standards.
Core Technical Skills
Data Warehousing & Platforms- Snowflake (mandatory)
- Experience with enterprise warehouses such as Hive, Oracle, MS SQL
Data Engineering- Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake
- Exposure to Ab Initio / Informatica or equivalent enterprise ETL frameworks
Transformations- dbt (Data Build Tool) for cloud‑native transformations and modelling
Cloud Platforms- AWS or GCP (banking environments preferred)
Orchestration & DevOps- CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Containerisation exposure (Docker)
Data Modelling- Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture
- Star schemas and core data warehousing concepts
Programming & Scripting- Python
- Unix / Shell scripting
Other Tools (Nice to Have)- AppDynamics (monitoring / performance)
- MongoDB
Experience- 12+ years in data warehousing / data engineering, with Technical Lead responsibilities.
- Proven delivery experience on Snowflake migration programs, preferably in banking or regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of banking data governance, audit, and control requirements.
