| Position: AS/400 – COBOL Production Support Engineer About the Role We are seeking an experienced AS/400 (IBM iSeries) Production Support Engineer with strong COBOL programming and system operations skills to support mission-critical business applications. You’ll monitor jobs, resolve incidents, troubleshoot COBOL programs, and ensure production stability through proactive support and collaboration with development and infrastructure teams. Key Responsibilities Monitor, investigate, and resolve production incidents on AS/400. Analyze job failures, system alerts, and application errors. Debug COBOL/400 and CL programs for issue resolution. Manage job queues, batch runs, and restarts. Support users and coordinate fixes or enhancements. Document root cause and preventive actions. Requirements Technical Skills AS/400 system operations (jobs, queues, libraries, message queues). COBOL/400 development and debugging. CL commands and DB2/400 (SQL, Query/400). Experience with incident management tools (ServiceNow, Jira). Familiarity with change control tools (ServiceNow). Soft Skills Strong analytical, troubleshooting and detail-oriented mindset. Calm under pressure and proactive communicator. Ownership mindset and team player. Advanced conversational English level, which allows to clearly understand and make themselves understandable with global teams. Preferred ITIL process knowledge. Automation or scripting experience (CL). Familiarity with AS/400 modernization (APIs, Power Platform). Experience & Education 3+ years supporting AS/400–COBOL applications. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred. Green credit bureau Work scheme: hybrid (Tecnoparque CDMX) |
