Position Description:

The Engineer of I&C will be responsible for the specification, selection, and review of HRSG I&C Items including Control valve, Attemperator, Automatic valve actuator, Transmitters, gauges, thermocouples, level gauge, Remote drum level Indicator, Hook-up, Electrical items, Tube Leak Detection System, Analyzers, CEM System, Freeze Protection Specification, Cable tray, Cable list, Aircraft Warning Light, Lighting, Switch gear, Functional Logic Diagrams. You will be part of an international team supporting a diverse array of international customers of combined cycle power plants.

In this position, you will be responsible for the HRSG I&C as well as its interface with other HRSG Engineering Center of Excellences (COE), and with a focus on project execution, product improvement, problem solving and product cost out.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Engineer I&C, you will be:

  • Responsible for the specification, selection and review of third-party equipment to meet the Customer and GE’s needs.
  • Capable of working across a broad spectrum of technical areas including Control valve, Attemperator, Instrument, electric items, Analyzers, Logic Diagrams.
  • Capable of taking a holistic approach to the HRSG design in order to optimize the overall equipment selection.
  • Responsible for selection of the optimum equipment by working with other HRSG engineering COE including Performance Engineers, Piping Engineers, A&M Engineers, Auxiliary Equipment and Structural Engineers.
  • Responsible for evaluating, analyzing and explaining I&C Items while working with Proposal Engineers, Service Engineers, Sourcing, Vendors, Customers, and Project Management.
  • Responsible for technical evaluation of third-party equipment suppliers.
  • Responsible for analysis and rectification of incorrectly performing equipment during and after installation.
  • Capable of working with domestic and international customers and vendors.
  • Responsible for the implementation of code requirements.
  • Be responsible for feedback and improvements to the methods and equipment used.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Participate actively in various activities to secure competitiveness of HRSG products




Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a special combination of education and experience with demonstrated accomplishments
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an Electrical/mechanical Design Engineering role of HRSG
  • Able to communicate in English

  • Proven interface skills with customers, both internal and external
  • Knowledge of related Codes, design standards/manuals and specifications for HRSG I&C Items
  • Ability to navigate effectively in a highly matrixed, horizontal environment
