Job description

Infosys is seeking Lead Azure Cloud Engineer. This role is primarily responsible for End to end ownership of container product features, for both new container deployments and support of existing container in the Cloud and On-Premise (Own the product as a Service) for our application ecosystem's stability, integrity, and day-to-day operations. You'll work closely with the software engineers and site reliability engineers to ensure existing systems function as intended, identify potential operational challenges, and make necessary code adjustments for optimization and efficiency. Occupying this role means being at the heart of our operations, ensuring that business applications remain functional, efficient, and user centric. While the focus isn't on new feature development, the operational integrity of the application is paramount, requiring a dedicated professional.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor currently.
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Houston, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US.
• At least 7 years of experience of Information Technology experience.
• Expert level container and system level design, tuning experience
• In-depth knowledge of multiple container product technologies such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), AWS EKS, OpenShift
• In-depth container operations experience (Application or Infrastructure support) with experience of the DevOps/DevSecOps operating model enabling self-service management by application development teams.
• Experience with software development methods (Java / .Net) and/or shell languages such as C#, Python, PowerShell, and JAVA
• Experience in supporting development teams and can communicate insight to developers and architects on the operational impact and requirements of container products.
• Experienced to consult with application managers and support teams to resolve critical escalated incidents relating to the container product design.
• Experienced to consult with project managers and application managers on request fulfillment escalations.
• Experienced to communicate the technical aspects of all container product lines and engineering capabilities to clients.
• Experienced to write technology standards, guidelines, and processes to operate all product lines
• Experienced to manage and lead technical projects required to implement, upgrade, and enhance new and existing customer container to new versions of container product lines
• Experienced to think strategically, translate that strategy into technical requirements, and see those requirements through to implementation and BAU support
• Experienced to deal with a broad set of activities across a wide stakeholder group and manage ambiguity well.
• Experience in working with other technical teams to install in-house developed and vendor provided software and integrate software on various operating systems, including Windows, Unix, and Linux

Preferred Qualification:
• This role requires minor code adjustments, so deep algorithmic knowledge is not essential.
• In-depth knowledge of fault tolerance, load balancing, and disaster recovery technologies as they relate to container products.
• Understanding AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure services is essential.
• Experience working globally, working across different cultures and time zones and being part of virtual teams. Experience in the Agile software manufacturing processes.
• Experience with tools like Jenkins, Grafana, Prometheus, ServiceNow
• Business / Domain experience is highly desirable or demonstrated ability to learn new concepts rapidly in line with changes to cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with Relational and NoSQL database systems, understanding how to query, adjust, and optimize for operational requirements.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face.
