Roles and Responsibilities:
| 1. Database Monitoring: |
| • Monitor databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other tools. |
| • Respond to alerts and notifications promptly, ensuring optimal database performance. |
| 2. Routine Maintenance: |
| • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, patch application, and database health checks. |
| • Execute necessary procedures to maintain data integrity. |
| 3. User Support: |
| • Provide assistance to end-users for basic database-related inquiries and issues. |
| 4. Security Management: |
| • Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption. |
| 5. Documentation: |
| • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. |
| 6. Troubleshooting: |
| • Identify and resolve basic database issues promptly, escalating to L2,L3 as needed. |
| 7. Performance Monitoring and Tuning: |
| • Use OEM and other tools for performance monitoring and basic tuning activities. |
| • Implement indexing and optimization strategies to enhance database performance. |
| 8. Backup and Recovery: |
| • Execute and monitor database backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data protection. |
| • Familiarity with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN). |
| 9. Capacity Planning: |
| • Analyze database growth patterns and resource usage to assist in capacity planning. |
| • Propose scaling solutions based on performance metrics. |
| 10. Automation and Scripting: |
| • Develop and implement automation scripts for routine tasks, improving operational efficiency. |
• Utilize scripting languages like SQL*Plus or PL/SQL.

| 11. Incident Resolution: |
| • Resolve incidents promptly, collaborating with L2 for more complex issues. |
| • Analyze incidents to identify trends and implement preventive measures. |
| 12. Patch Management: |
| • Apply patches and updates to databases to ensure they are up-to-date. |
| • Plan and execute version upgrades when required. |
| 13. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: |
| • Implement and manage high availability solutions (e.g., Oracle Data Guard). |
| • Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution. |
| 14. Data Movement and Migration: |
| • Perform efficient data movement and migration tasks between databases or environments. |
| • Ensure data integrity and consistency during migration processes. |
| 15. Collaboration: |
| • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, developers, and management for effective database support and alignment with organizational goals. |
