Infosys is seeking a SAP ABAP Architect

This position will required a key player in engaging with business/functional team in providing best fit technical solutions while conforming to client’s and Infosys development standards. You will also support knowledge transfer with the objective of providing value-adding consulting solutions that enable our clients to meet the changing needs of the global landscape.

Basic qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
  • At least 7 years of experience with Information Technology

  • This position may require travel to project location in Irving, TX.
Preferred qualifications
  • Work primarily in SAP Client/Server enterprise in support of multiple Business Units utilizing advanced technical knowledge.
  • Architect & execute complex solutions involved in requirements analysis, prototyping, designing and developing solutions
  • Expert in SAP Enhancements technologies including Classical Enhancements BADI, User Exits, BTE, and new Enhancement framework
  • Enhancements with BADI, New Enhancement Framework including Enhancement points, Sections and spots.
  • Excellent knowledge and working experience of Object-Oriented ABAP, Model View Controllers (MVC) architecture, and ABAP objects design patterns.
  • Must have proved experience in building integrations around SAP R/3 suite of products using Cross Application (ALE/EDI/IDOC/BAPI’s/SAP Proxies) modules.
  • Should have expertise in developing ABAP RICEFs (Reports/ALV Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, workflows and Enhancements, Forms – SMARTFORMS, SAP Script), Enhancement techniques like User exits, Customer Exits, Implicit and Explicit Enhancements, BADIs, BTE and VOFM routines.
  • Experience in SAP End to End implementation, roll-out, production support, and enhancement and upgrade projects.
  • Must have expertise of performance tuning, testing and optimization of objects. Should have worked on SQL trace, Runtime analysis and SCI.
  • Should have good working knowledge on ABAP dictionary tools like Tables, Data Elements, Domains, Views, Structures, Search Help, and Lock Objects, search help etc.
  • Must have experience of scheduling/ Analyzing background Jobs.
  • Should be able to coordinate between the onsite functional team, client and the offshore technical team.
  • Working knowledge in agile methodology is mandatory.
  • Exposure to S4 HANA implementation project.
  • Experience with ABAP RESTful application programming model (RAP)
  • Working experience on CDS View, AMDP and OData services.
  • Understanding of SAP BTP and its various environments (e.g., ABAP environment, Cloud Foundry).
  • Experience with side-by-side extensibility scenarios on BTP.
  • Knowledge of the Clean Core approach and its benefits.
  • Experience in identifying and addressing custom code dependencies for Clean Core.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for custom code migration to BTP
  • Experience in developing Fiori applications, including OData services.
  • Familiarity with Fiori Elements framework.
  • Individual contributor to work with Functional, Business, and other stakeholders (like validation teams).
  • Requirement gathering
  • Preparing technical specifications
  • Code development and unit testing
  • Responsible for Unit testing, Integration test fixes, regression testing, coordination of UAT testing and cut-over activities
  • Coordination with team members (including offshore)
  • Provide post-deployment support (defect fixing).
  • Follow client tools and processes.
  • Attend and contribute to all scrum/agile meetings and ceremonies.
  • Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and come up with solutions to improve performance of existing SAP applications using performance tuning techniques (ST05, ST22, ATC, Code Inspector) and implement SAP parallel processing techniques.
  • Provide necessary system user training with comprehensive specifications, documentation, test documents and code review, etc.
  • Applies advanced principles, theories and concepts in delivering solutions. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
